Tate’s Last Family Home Evening
April 8, 2013 was Family night in our home. While we didn’t do anything amazing and memorable for Family Night due to Hunter being really sick, it was probably the most fun night I had had with Tate.
We stayed at home and watched the NCAA Basketball championship game. Brandi went and got chinese for dinner. Lexi and Hunter didn’t want to leave the house, so Brandi took Tate with her. Before they left Tate was very excited to go with Mommy, he knew it was a special Mommy/ Son date. I will let Brandi write about the details of their adventure.
They brought the food back and Tate was especially happy. Hunter, Tate and I sat on the floor with our legs forming a star and we passed the ball to each other for a long time. After awhile Tate decided to spice it up and when we would roll the ball to him, he would grab it and throw it out of our circle into the kitchen. Hunter would run and grab it and Tate would laugh the whole time. Hunter would give it back to him and Tate would start hitting the ball with both of his arms as crazy as he could. Then we would play for a little bit and he would throw it away again and laugh with his famous Tate belly laugh.
Later that night as I was trying to change Tate and put him in his jammies, he decided it was a perfect time to tease me. As I tried to put his new diaper on he would push off my legs and move back so I could no longer reach him. I would grab his legs and pull him back to try and get his diaper on and he would push away before I could get it on. He would laugh the whole time, knowing he was teasing me pretty good. As Hunter watched, he decided to start cheering on Tate and encouraging him to scoot away from me. This lit Tate up and he really got into it upon hearing Hunters cheers.
Finally I got his diaper on, but I was far from finished. Getting his clothes on was an even bigger challenge. When I would finally get an item on he would laugh so hard and then get right back into teasing me. This whole process took about an hour, but it was the perfect end to a very fun night with our little buddy!
