Tate
My favorite memory of Tate is actually the first time I ever met him. We came over to your house to see him when he was just a few weeks old, and I will never forget holding him for the first time. He had the most powerful little spirit it actually made me cry! You could just feel how special he was, and how close to Heaven your house was with him in it. I was teaching sharing time later that week after I had met Tate, and I was telling the kids about how they were all special children of God. I told them about meeting Tate, and the Spirit came into the primary room so strongly. I was again so sure that Tate was one of God’s truly awesome sons!
I also loved how he would hide all sweet and shy with his face into Brandi, or how at Soccer games he would practice all his new tricks for me that he had learned that week like clapping or laughing or waving. I will also remember when we went to the water fountain at Day Break and Tate lying on the blanket in the shade, just hangin’ out as one of the kids. I also love the memories of him at my house for play days and parties. I always loved holding him and especially watching how much my boys loved him. I also loved watching Bishop Brown hold Tate at Hunter’s birthday party. You could tell Tate just loved his grandpa so much!
It was so great when we were explaining to Trace that Tate had passed away but would be resurrected and see his family again. Trace was so serious and said he hoped Tate would still have only one hand, because he loved his little nub.
I feel like my life is changed so much for the better after meeting Tate. I loved what Travis posted once about what it means to have “a perfect baby or child”, and that Tate was “perfect” in every way! Truly, he was and is.
I have know Brandi since we were just little girls. I have to say, I know Tate was sent to the perfect mother for him. Brandi was so loving and so wonderful to him. They have such an amazing and eternal bond, it has been so inspiring to watch. Even when Brandi would describe something super stressful like his surgery or a problem Tate was having, her yellow-ness would shine through and she would try to find the good in it! I love you Brandi, and am so grateful I have been able to watch and learn from you as you are one amazing woman and mommy! I know Tate will forever be grateful it was you he got to come to.
Happy Mother day!
love always,
Juliana
